As an affiliated parish ministry of Orthodox Christians for Life, our mission is to cultivate Orthodox pro-life involvement in our parish and throughout Westmoreland County.  Our purpose is to support at-risk women, their children, and families, by collaborating with local organizations to strengthen their impact, and to create a culture of prayer, education, and acts of service around the supporting of life.

PRAYER FOR LIFE

O Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, who art in the bosom of the Father, fountain of life and immortality, Light of Light, who camest into the world to enlighten it: thou wast pleased to be conceived in the womb of the Virgin Mary for the salvation of our souls by the power of thine all-Holy Spirit. O Master, who camest that we might have life more abundantly, we beseech thee to enlighten the minds and hearts of those who refuse to see that human life begins at conception and that the unborn in the womb are already adorned with thine image and likeness; grant us strength to guard, cherish, and protect the lives of all those who are unable to care for themselves. For thou, O Giver of life, dost bring each person from non-being into being, sealing each person with divine and infinite love. Be merciful, O Lord, to those who, through ignorance or willfulness, affront thy divine goodness and providence through the evil act of abortion. May they, with all of us, come to the life of thy Truth and glorify thee, the merciful Savior, together with thy Father who is without beginning, and thine All-holy, good, and life-giving Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

We support a local ministry, Life•Way Family & Pregnancy Support which shares the promise of hope by helping young women and men with life affirming choices. For 30 years it has offered the unconditional love of Jesus along with practical assistance. They help through pregnancy, after childbirth and through the parenting years.  Their Latrobe and Indiana locations have trained staff ready to help with a pregnancy test, pregnancy education, adoption options, or parenting skills. Their intake and individual sessions are offered in-person and remotely. Lessons are individualized and are always free of charge and confidential.

We support My Choice Medical Clinic which offers confidential, respectful and compassionate care to anyone facing an unplanned pregnancy or the after-effects of abortion. We are committed to giving accurate information in a caring and private atmosphere.

We support the Deeper Still Ministry which offers retreats for those who have experienced an abortion. Their retreats are provided FREE OF CHARGE to all participants. A Deeper Still Retreat lets you take a break from the responsibilities of life, and focus on healing only the Lord can provide. It also allows others to serve you and meet your needs. You are also likely to have a renewed sense of self by the Peace of the Lord, safe and secure in the assurance of God’s love.
